HIS CALLING

Christ commissioned his disciples to make disciples. Since being a disciple and making disciples are God’s callings for his people, we need clarity about what scripture teaches about HIS CALLING.  We need to know what Jesus taught about the distinguishing characteristics of a disciple. As we reflect on true discipleship, we’ll discover HIS CALLING is not something we invent for ourselves, nor a checklist to be accomplished and forgotten.   Making disciples is a life-long pursuit of knowing and obeying Christ and coming alongside others to helping them know and follow him.  This is our highest calling because it is HIS CALLING.The purpose of HIS CALLING is to renew our minds by hearing and reflecting on the words of Christ in the Gospel record in order to discover what Jesus meant by his call to discipleship.   In HIS CALLING, we focus on passages where Jesus identified the marks of his disciples, which include:

• Whole life transformation
• Sacrificial allegiance
• Faithful obedience
• Servant love
• Spiritual fruitfulness

▪The life skills developed in HIS CALLING include deepening our Appointment with God (AWG) habit, learning how to memorize bible verses, and learning how to meditate on scripture through weekly planned meditation exercises with preselected passages related to HIS CALLING.
